Sports Minister yet to confirm Indonesia’s athlete count for Thailand SEA Games

Dito Ariotedjo, Indonesia’s Minister of Youth and Sports, states that the number of athletes for the 2025 SEA Games Thailand remains under evaluation, according to ANTARA News.

Indonesia has registered 1,548 athletes in preliminary data — this number shows significant increase compared to 599 athletes who competed at the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games.

“There is a review team consisting of sports experts and academics to review athletes who will compete in SEA Games,” states Ariotedjo.

Deputy Minister Taufik Hidayat emphasizes — selection will prioritize medal-potential athletes, while maintaining opportunities for young talents.

This SEA Games serves as an important event — acting as Indonesia’s stepping stone towards achievements in larger international multi-event competitions.
