Prediksi Spanyol vs Rumania di Kejuaraan Eropa U-21 (14.06.2025)

On Saturday, June 14 at 23:00 WIB, the U-21 national teams of Spain and Romania will face off at Tehelne Pole Stadium in Bratislava in the second matchday of Group A in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship. Spain leads the group after a 3-2 win over Slovakia, while Romania sits at the bottom following a 0-1 loss to Italy.

Spain

In the tournament’s opening match, Santi Denia’s team quickly went up 2-0 against Slovakia. The right flank performed as expected, led by players like Marc Pubill from Almeria, Javi Guerra from Valencia, and Juanlu Sanchez from Sevilla. Mateo Joseph from Leeds also scored, living up to expectations as a key attacking threat.

La Rojita dominated the match, and nothing suggested any surprises. However, in the 48th and 53rd minutes, the Spanish youngsters conceded two goals in quick succession. They managed to snatch victory during injury time. Despite their statistical dominance, the team occasionally loses focus, allowing opponents to create danger. It’s worth noting that Spain conceded goals in all three of their pre-Euro U-21 friendlies.

Romania

Daniel Pancu coaches a team that may lack stars but has strong ambition. The “Young Tricolors” finished first in their qualifying group for this Euro and performed decently in friendly matches. However, in the opening game against their Italian peers, they failed to convert clear chances. Interestingly, based on xG statistics, Romania had better numbers than Italy with 1.62 to 0.56. In the first half, Louis Munteanu missed a penalty.

Munteanu is the team’s clear leader and rightfully wears the captain’s armband. He scored 23 goals in 35 matches for CFR Cluj this season. But in the game against Italy, he received poor ratings, played nervously, got a yellow card, and missed a penalty.

Statistics and Head-to-Head

Since 2019, the two teams have met three times at the U-21 level, with Spain winning all encounters. In the previous Euro U-21, La Rojita defeated Romania convincingly with a 3-0 scoreline.

Prediction

Our prediction for the Spain vs Romania match takes into account both squads and their tournament motivation. Spain’s technical quality is significantly higher, but they have consistently conceded goals even against weaker teams in recent months. Romania, on the other hand, has talented forwards. Therefore, the prediction is that both teams will score.
