Somkiat Chantra scores first MotoGP points at Assen Circuit

Somkiat Chantra from Idemitsu Honda LCR team marks an achievement by scoring his first points in MotoGP — a significant milestone for the Thai rider.

Chantra’s debut journey differs from fellow rookies like Ai Ogura from Trackhouse Racing who finished fourth and Fermin Aldeguer from BK8 Gresini Racing who secured third podium.

Former teammate of Mario Suryo Aji at Honda Team Asia Moto2 finally secured his first points by finishing 15th at the Dutch MotoGP at Assen Circuit.

“My race became a nightmare because I felt strong vibrations. I let Somkiat pass me on the last lap. I’m happy he got one point,” stated Aleix Espargaro from Castrol Honda HRC who experienced technical issues.
