Sofie Imam Faizal joins Indonesia U-17 national team in Jeddah

Sofie Imam Faizal, assistant coach of Indonesia’s senior national team, has officially joined the Indonesia U-17 national team—a move he announced through his personal Instagram account.

After completing his duties with the senior team during FIFA Matchday March 2025, the fitness coach—who serves as Patrick Kluivert’s only local assistant—immediately departed for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

“Alhamdulillah, Jeddah. Back again with the U-17 national team to continue pursuing dreams to the highest level,” Sofie wrote on his personal Instagram account.

His transition to the U-17 squad highlights PSSI’s commitment to ensuring continuity in player development across different age levels. With his experience from the senior team, Sofie is expected to contribute significantly to the fitness and preparation of Indonesia’s young talents as they compete on the international stage.
