The 190 cm tall goalkeeper gained attention after officially receiving Indonesian citizenship status about a month ago. Cyrus Margono obtained citizenship through a special path — thanks to his father from Bali and mother from Iran.

The citizenship process for this New York-born player differed from typical naturalization — his application went through the State Secretariat and Ministry of Law and Human Rights. Despite officially becoming an Indonesian citizen, the 23-year-old keeper has not yet received a call-up to the national team squad.
