Sjoerd Woudenberg joins Indonesia U-23 coaching staff for ASEAN Cup

Sjoerd Woudenberg — the goalkeeper coach who just completed his duties with Indonesia senior national team — will join Indonesia U-23 coaching staff for ASEAN Cup U-23 2025.

Woudenberg recently finished two final matches of World Cup 2026 Qualifiers third round with senior team under Patrick Kluivert — resulting in a 1-0 victory over China and a 0-6 defeat to Japan.

In U-23 team, the Dutch coach will assist Gerald Vanenburg who was appointed as head coach — continuing Dutch coaching staff collaboration in Indonesian football development.

Despite suffering a heavy defeat in the last match, Indonesia national team secured their spot in the fourth round of qualifiers — indicating the need for quality improvement to compete with Asia’s best teams.
