Six Young Players Nominated for PFA Award

The Professional Footballers’ Association has announced six nominations for the Young Player of the Year award — with Chelsea dominating the list.

Aggie Beever-Jones, Maika Hamano, and Wieke Kaptein from Chelsea made the nomination list thanks to their contributions in an unbeaten Women’s Super League season. Beever-Jones impressed as the club’s top scorer.

Liverpool striker Olivia Smith earned a nomination after her brilliant debut season — scoring nine goals in 25 appearances across all competitions. Meanwhile, Manchester United midfielder Grace Clinton, last year’s winner, returns to the nominations after scoring nine goals in 22 matches.

Mary Fowler from Manchester City completes the nomination list — recording six goals and seven assists before suffering an ACL injury mid-season.

The winner, chosen by PFA members, will be announced at the awards ceremony at Manchester Opera House in August.
