Six talented young players nominated for PFA Young Player of the Year

The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) has announced six nominations for the 2024-25 Young Player of the Year award — a recognition determined through player voting.

Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri represent North London’s Arsenal. The 18-year-old Lewis-Skelly caught attention after scoring his first goal in a 5-1 victory over Manchester City, while Nwaneri — holder of Premier League’s youngest player record — has shown impressive form throughout the season.

Dean Huijsen earned his nomination through performances at Bournemouth — which led to Real Madrid triggering his £50 million release clause. His Bournemouth teammate Milos Kerkez also made the list and is reportedly close to joining Liverpool.

Liam Delap, Chelsea’s recent £30 million signing, enters the nominations after scoring 12 goals for Ipswich Town. Completing the list is Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa who contributed eight goals to help secure his team’s Europa League qualification.

The winner will be announced at a ceremony in Manchester Opera House on August 19.
