The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) has announced six candidates for the 2024-25 Player of the Year award — a recognition determined through voting by fellow professional players.

Mohamed Salah of Liverpool emerges as the favorite to win this award after an impressive display with 29 goals and 18 assists in the Premier League. His teammate, Alexis Mac Allister, also receives a nomination for his vital role in Liverpool’s league title success.

Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United earns a nomination for his impressive individual performance — scoring eight goals and providing ten assists in the league. Meanwhile, Cole Palmer from Chelsea makes the list after netting 15 goals that helped his team qualify for the Champions League.

Alexander Isak from Newcastle United recorded 23 league goals and contributed to his team’s League Cup victory. Declan Rice completes the nomination list following his best season with Arsenal, scoring nine goals and providing ten assists from 52 appearances across all competitions.

The winner will be announced at a ceremony at Manchester Opera House on August 19.
