Shin Tae-yong — the former Indonesia national team coach who was dismissed in January 2025 — has yet to find his new club to continue his coaching career.

The 54-year-old coach was replaced by Patrick Kluivert as Indonesia’s national team tactician but remains active in attending various events in Indonesia.

One of the activities attended by the South Korean coach was a public viewing of Indonesia’s national team matches against Australia and Bahrain in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers Asian Zone.

Local media reports suggest that Shin Tae-yong may continue his career in Indonesia, with two Liga 1 clubs linked to him:

  • Persija Jakarta

  • Persebaya Surabaya

As Shin Tae-yong continues to stay involved with Indonesian football—his next coaching move remains a subject of speculation, with the possibility of a return to club football still open.

His expertise and previous successes with the national team—have positioned him as an attractive candidate for Liga 1 clubs seeking experienced leadership.
