Shin Tae-yong Reveals His Journey with Indonesian National Team

According to South Korean media, Shin Tae-yong shared the story of his journey as Indonesia’s national team coach.

The 54-year-old coach carried out a special assignment — training three different age levels namely senior, U-23, and U-20 during the 2019-2025 period.

Brilliant achievements were secured by Shin Tae-yong with the Garuda squad — leading all three national team levels to the Asian Cup finals.

Another historic milestone was carved when Shin Tae-yong became the first coach to bring the senior Indonesian national team to the Asian Cup twice consecutively, plus the success of reaching the third round of 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

However, his tenure in that qualification phase only lasted for six matches before finally ending.
