Shin Tae-yong responds to rumors about Chinese national team offer

Shin Tae-yong, former Indonesian national team coach, addresses rumors about his potential involvement with the Chinese national team — which is seeking a new coach following their 2026 World Cup qualification failure.

China’s national team plans to dismiss Branko Ivankovic after the Dragons failed to reach the 2026 World Cup finals, getting eliminated in the third round of qualifications.

“If there’s an offer from China, why hesitate? If there’s an offer, I will go there. The Chinese national team coach position is clearly interesting,” Shin Tae-yong told South China Morning Post.

The 54-year-old South Korean coach emphasizes that he has not received any official approach from the Chinese Football Association regarding the position.
