Shin Tae-yong ready to coach China national team after leaving Indonesia

Shin Tae-yong — former Indonesia national team coach — has expressed his readiness to take charge of China national team which is currently searching for a new coach.

The Red Dragons are currently without a leader after dismissing Branko Ivankovic — the coach who failed to deliver maximum results in the Third Round of 2026 World Cup Qualifiers Asian Zone.

China had to settle for fifth place in Group C with 9 points from 10 matches — a result that confirmed their elimination alongside Bahrain from the competition.

Japan and Australia successfully secured direct tickets to the 2026 World Cup, while Saudi Arabia and Indonesia advanced to the Fourth Round of qualifications.

Amid the search for a new coach, China is reportedly eyeing Shin Tae-yong — the South Korean coach who has given a positive response to this interest.
