Shin Tae-yong opens opportunity to coach Chinese national team after World Cup failure

According to Bolasport.com, Shin Tae-yong has expressed interest in taking the vacant Chinese national team coaching position. The vacancy emerged following the dismissal of Croatian coach Branko Ivankovic — who failed to qualify China for the 2026 World Cup.

The former Indonesian national team coach’s name appeared on the list of candidates to replace Ivankovic. The South Korean coach responded positively to the possibility of handling the Chinese national team.

“If there’s an offer from China, why hesitate? If there’s an offer, I will come,” said Shin Tae-yong.
