Shayne Pattynama Records Assist in Debut Match for Buriram United

Indonesian national team player Shayne Pattynama kicked off his new journey in the Thai League with an impressive debut for Buriram United, providing an assist in his very first match.

The left-back, who officially joined Buriram United just last week, was immediately entrusted to start in a pre-season match against Sabah FC during the 2025 ASEAN Charity Shield, held at the Rainbow Stadium in Pattani.

In the match played two days ago, Buriram United delivered a dominant performance and secured a resounding 8–2 victory over the Malaysian club. Pattynama played with confidence throughout the game and contributed one assist, helping to highlight his attacking prowess alongside his defensive duties.

This impressive debut is a promising sign for the former Viking FK (Norway) player, who made the move to Southeast Asia in search of a new challenge. His arrival is expected to bolster Buriram’s defensive line while also adding creativity from the flanks — a key quality as the club prepares for the 2025/2026 season.

The match against Sabah FC also served as an important assessment for Buriram’s head coach, who is working to finalize a strong squad ahead of the new season. In addition to Pattynama, several other key players impressed, demonstrating Buriram’s dominance from the first whistle.

With such a strong start, Shayne Pattynama is well-positioned to secure a regular spot in the team’s starting XI. His playing time at Buriram United will also benefit the Indonesian national team, giving him consistent minutes at a competitive level in Southeast Asia.
