Shane van Gisbergen and Connor Zilisch set for Chicago Street Course showdown

According to NASCAR.com, Trackhouse Racing teammates — Shane van Gisbergen and Connor Zilisch — will go head-to-head in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Chicago Street Course this July.

Both drivers will represent JR Motorsports with Red Bull sponsorship — marking the energy drink brand’s first appearance on a JRM car. They will sport different paint schemes but share the same sponsor.

Zilisch — who competes full-time in NASCAR Xfinity Series and recently claimed his first victory at Pocono — will face off against Van Gisbergen who is currently in his rookie NASCAR Cup Series season. The New Zealand native is the defending Chicago NXS race champion after securing victory with Kaulig Racing last year.

The drivers previously met four times in the 2024 Xfinity Series — at Watkins Glen, Kansas, Homestead, and Phoenix. However, this will be their first time as true teammates in NXS, although they already share Trackhouse duties in Cup Series.
