Serie A Plans to Hold AC Milan Match in Australia

According to The New York Times, Serie A has an unusual plan to hold a match between AC Milan and Como in Perth, Australia — a city located 13,291 kilometers away from Italy.

The match is scheduled for February 7-8, 2026 — coinciding with winter season in Italy. This decision was made because San Siro Stadium — AC Milan’s home ground, will be used for Winter Olympics opening ceremony on February 6, 2026.

Como, an Indonesian-owned club, should have played at San Siro — but this situation forced Serie A to seek an alternative match location for the 2025-2026 season.
