Sentinels Sweeps DRX, Books EWC 2025 Playoffs

Sentinels VCT Americas 2025

Sentinels have secured their spot in the Valorant EWC 2025 playoffs with a crucial win over Pacific representative DRX.

The VCT Americas giant had worried fans with inconsistent performances over the past few days. They were stunned by BBL’s fast-paced play, which forced a tie-breaker and ended in a narrow loss. They then bounced back with a hard-fought 2-1 victory against XLG.

Given this context, it’s no surprise they were seen as underdogs against the disciplined DRX. However, the team led by Amine “johnqt” Ouarid maximized their opportunities round by round to secure a decisive 2-0 win.

DRX put up a fight on Lotus, Sentinels’ strong pick. But the strong plays from duo Song “HYUNMIN” Hyun-min and No “freeing” Ha-jun couldn’t break through Sentinels’ solid strategy, who closed out the map 13-7.

The surprise came on Sunset, which should have been DRX’s strong pick. Instead of returning the favor, DRX struggled against Sentinels’ key-site effectiveness and couldn’t keep up as the rounds progressed. The Red Giant ultimately sealed the map with a dominant 13-4 victory.

This result sends Sentinels into the next round of Valorant EWC 2025 as a VCT Americas representative, alongside dark horse NRG. Meanwhile, two of the region’s top teams, G2 Esports and 100 Thieves, were surprisingly departing too soon.
