Following alleged irregularities in the match against PSIS Semarang, Semen Padang team advisor Andre Rosiade and PT Kabau Sirah Semen Padang CEO Win Bernadino paid a visit to the PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) office.

During the meeting, Semen Padang‘s management officially requested the use of foreign referees for their remaining five matches in the Liga 1 2024–2025 season, with implementation starting from April 27.

VAR should be used to eliminate the mafia, not become a new mafia. Don’t let it go wrong. Because the battle to avoid relegation is far more intense than fighting for the title,” stated Andre Rosiade.

The request also includes the use of the VAR system in an effort to improve the standard and transparency of officiating in crucial matches that may determine the club’s future in the top division.

Semen Padang, currently fighting to avoid relegation, believes that stronger oversight and neutral officiating through VAR and foreign referees can help maintain integrity in the final stretch of the season.
