Selangor Red Giants Finishes MPL MY Season 15 Group Stage Undefeated

Selangor Red Giants OG has just concluded the group stage of MPL Malaysia Season 15 as the league leaders, riding an impressive nine-match winning streak.

Throughout the season, SRG.OG faced a tough challenge in only one game against Aero Esports during Week 4. Beyond that, they dominated every opponent, including huge victories over rivals HomeBois and Team Vamos, concluding with a flawless 9-0 record (26 points).

The Filipino import player John “Innocent” Vincent Banal and roamer Muhammad “Yums” Qayyum Ariffin emerged as the standout duo for the Red Giants this season. Their strategic hero drafts boasted a 60% win rate, supported by an exceptionally deep hero pool.

This success mirrors their performance in MPL MY Season 13 around mid-2024, while also making history as the first team in MPL MY to top the group stage standings for three consecutive seasons. Going forward, their campaign will continue in the Upper Bracket Semifinals on June 1, awaiting the result of the playoff match between Aero Esports and Team Vamos to determine their opponent.

Given this dominant form, SRG.OG is now the strongest contenders to secure their third Malaysian championship title and represent the country at the 2025 Esports World Cup.
