Sean Murphy Hits Two Historic Home Runs, Braves Defeat Cardinals

Sean Murphy delivered an outstanding performance with two longest home runs of the season at Busch Stadium — leading Atlanta Braves to a narrow 6-5 victory over St. Louis Cardinals.

Murphy’s first blast traveled 437 feet to left-center field after an intense 13-pitch battle against Matthew Liberatore — giving a 3-0 lead in the first inning. His second home run was even more impressive with a 440-foot shot to center field.

Ronald Acuña Jr. also made significant contributions with three hits, while Raisel Iglesias secured his first save since mid-last year.

  • Enyel De Los Santos earned the win after two perfect innings
  • Grant Holmes allowed five runs on nine hits in three innings
  • Austin Riley had to exit in the third inning due to abdominal tightness

This victory marked Braves’ 1000th win against Cardinals in the history of their matchups, though still trailing by 106 wins in the overall head-to-head record.
