Sean Gelael and United Autosports Complete Le Mans 24 Hours Preparation

Sean Gelael and his team United Autosports #95 have successfully completed the initial two stages of preparation for the 2024 Le Mans 24 Hours, including scrutineering and official test day.

The trio — Sean Gelael (Indonesia), Marino Sato (Japan), and Darren Leung (England) — are competing in the LMGT3 class, driving the McLaren 720S GT3.

Mixed season form heading into Le Mans

So far this season, United Autosports #95 has experienced fluctuating form in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC):

  • A strong performance in the opening round at Qatar

  • Struggles at the Imola and Spa-Francorchamps circuits

Despite the recent challenges, the team remains determined to perform at the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours.

Sato clocks fastest team lap despite setbacks

During the three-hour test session, the team encountered technical issues that delayed their run time, as the car was not ready at the start.

However, Marino Sato managed to deliver a late lap of 3:58.938, placing the car in ninth position in their category.

The session was topped by Akkodis ASP Team #87, who clocked the fastest lap at 3:57.109.
