Scottish League 2025/26 Schedule: Celtic vs St Mirren in Opening Match

Scottish League champions Celtic will start their campaign against St Mirren at home on August 3 — while their main rivals Rangers will play a day earlier as visitors against Motherwell.

Brendan Rodgers‘ team dominated the competition with a 17-point advantage last season — failing only once to claim the title in the last 14 years when Rangers became champions in 2020/21.

The first Old Firm derby of the season will be held at Ibrox on August 31 — Rangers’ new manager Russell Martin will make his debut in this prestigious fixture.

Scottish Cup champions Aberdeen will begin their season with an away trip to Hearts — before hosting Celtic in the second week, the team they defeated in last season’s Scottish Cup final.

The league will split into two groups after 33 matches next April — with the final five games scheduled to take place from April 25 to May 17.
