Sandy Walsh Experiences Worst Season with Yokohama F Marinos

Sandy Walsh faces a challenging situation with Yokohama F Marinos — a club currently enduring their worst season in Japanese League history.

Joining in February, the Indonesian national team defender hoped to experience the atmosphere of an elite club — as The Marinos has been known as one of the dominant forces in J League and Asian Champions League.

“I’m used to adapting and experiencing changes, and I’ve always wanted to go abroad,” Walsh stated.

“Very excited. The Japanese league has always been a major competition and I really wanted to play in the J League,” he added.

Entering mid-2025 season, the club has experienced a decline in performance under Steve Holland — the former assistant to Antonio Conte and Gareth Southgate who proved unable to bring positive results for the team.
