Sabar grateful despite defeat in Super 1000 debut

Despite the loss, Sabar expressed gratitude for reaching the final of their first-ever BWF Super 1000 tournament.

“Alhamdulillah, we completed the match well. Neither of us sustained any serious injuries. I mean, Reza’s injury didn’t worsen or flare up,” said Sabar after the match.

“We’re still grateful to have made the final here in Indonesia, especially at Istora.”

Reza admits difficulty against Seo Seung-jae’s defense

Reza highlighted the challenge of facing Seo Seung-jae, whose solid defense and composure disrupted their rhythm.

“Personally, it’s difficult to play against Seo. His defense is extremely tight and he remains calm under pressure. That made me impatient at the front,” he explained.

Positive signs for the future

Despite the disappointment, the performance of Sabar/Reza at a high-level tournament like Indonesia Open 2025 offers a positive outlook for Indonesia’s men’s doubles development. Their run to the final shows promise ahead of future BWF World Tour events.
