S8UL Esports Faces EWC 2025 Disqualification

S8UL Esports, an official partner team for EWC 2025 competing in MLBB at the upcoming MSC x EWC 2025 this July, has reportedly been suspended by Moonton Games and is on the verge of disqualification due to alleged violations of sponsorship agreements.

Reports indicate the issue started when two of its members, Michael “MobaZane” Cosgun and Jang “Hoon” Seong-hun, were revealed as content creators for a Honor of Kings event. They streamed the game events on their personal channels around June 27th and 28th in their Philippines bootcamp.

This caused an uproar in the global MLBB community, highlighting the exclusive contracts between Moonton and the MSC x EWC 2025 partner teams that explicitly forbid promoting any competitor games to MLBB. Consequently, their participation in the tournament is now in question.

While one contract clause prohibited such promotions only between May 9th and 18th, which would seemingly exempt MobaZane and Hoon, sources state Moonton actually highlighted their occasional HoK livestreams during that May period as the violation.

Furthermore, recent comments from their teammate Carlos “bestplayer1” Vega on Discord strongly suggest the team has been penalized by Moonton. The American vented his frustration via his personal channel, stating the team’s efforts last season were wasted because they won’t be going to EWC.

So far, neither Moonton nor S8UL has clarified the controversy surrounding their MSC x EWC 2025 slot. However, given the track record of the official MLBB competitive circuit in recent seasons, this situation isn’t particularly surprising to old viewers.
