Ryo Matsumura’s future at Persija Jakarta remains uncertain

The fate of Ryo Matsumura at Persija Jakarta remains uncertain — despite the Japanese player still being under contract for another season.

The presence of new coach Mauricio Souza is a determining factor in Matsumura’s future — the Brazilian coach plans to bring in two foreign players for the wing position.

Persija Jakarta Director, Mohamad Prapanca revealed that several clubs are interested in Matsumura’s services.

“There have been offers but it depends on whether the coach still needs him or not,” said Prapanca.

The former Persis Solo player is still awaiting the final decision from coach Souza — who likely wants to first assess Matsumura’s abilities on the field.
