Rubens Barrichello Claims Double Victory at NASCAR Brazil Interlagos

Rubens Barrichello delivered a stellar performance by winning both races of the NASCAR Brazil round at Interlagos last weekend — making a triumphant return to the top podium 35 years after his South American Formula 3 victory at the same circuit.

Double Win on NASCAR Brazil Debut Season

The 52-year-old racing veteran made his NASCAR Brazil debut in the 2025 season and quickly made headlines by securing a double win in the third round. He claimed victory in Saturday’s race and repeated the feat during Sunday’s main event.

“Interlagos for me is joy. I’ve been racing here since 1990 when I won the race. The slipstream effect in this championship is significant,” said Barrichello.

Racing Legacy and Passion Remain Strong

After his Formula 1 retirement in 2011, Barrichello transitioned to various motorsport categories, including IndyCar, stock car, and endurance racing. He remains active in Stock Car Pro and NASCAR Brazil, having clinched the Stock Car Pro title in 2022.

“The truth is that it’s a great joy to be able to fight with all your strength for a victory you’ve always dreamed of, and this weekend it came in double doses,” he added.

Le Mans Duty Awaits as Son Eduardo Joins The Fray

Barrichello is set to miss the next NASCAR round due to his commitments at Le Mans, where his son Eduardo Barrichello will compete with the Racing Spirit of Leman GT3 team in the World Endurance Championship. Despite his age, Rubens continues to showcase an unwavering competitive spirit.
