RRQ’s Valorant EWC 2025 Run Ends in Decider Heartbreak

Indonesia’s representatives and VCT Pacific winner RRQ have been eliminated early from Valorant EWC 2025, following a decisive loss to Team Heretics in the elimination match earlier this evening.

Both teams entered the decider with identical records (1 win, 1 loss) after failing to hold off the challenge from North American dark horse NRG. However, RRQ held a slight edge as favorites, given their impressive performance throughout the recent VCT Pacific 2025: Stage 1.

The squad did not show up. RRQ suffered a crushing defeat on the first map, Sunset, falling 3-13 in a remarkably one-sided affair. Heretics secured most of those rounds decisively within the first half.

The Indonesian King mounted a fierce comeback on their stronghold, Icebox, in the second map. After trailing Heretics early, RRQ clawed their way back with standout performances from Cahya “Monyet” Nugraha and Bryan “Kushy” Setiawan. They forced overtime by tying the score 12-12.

Unfortunately, even their exceptional individual skills couldn’t overcome Heretics’ rock-solid teamwork and strategy in the late game. The European squad displayed superior competitive composure, winning two crucial late-round duels to clinch the map 15-13. This heartbreaking loss ends RRQ’s journey at EWC 2025.

With this result, only the Gen.G versus EDG match remains to determine the final Pacific representative to join Paper Rex in the playoffs.
