RRQ Hoshi’s head coach, Alfi “Khezcute” Nelphyana, recently stated that he remains unfazed by the team’s unexpected loss to Bigetron Esports during MPL ID Season 15 last Sunday (20/04).

In the final match of Week 4, RRQ was heavily favored to dominate Bigetron decisively. However, predictions were overturned when The Indonesian Kings suffered a heavy 0-2 defeat against The Red Robots.

The defeat was not enough to derail them from the top spot, but the RRQ Kingdom fanbase were visibly frustrated, as their attempt to maintain a long win streak was cut prematurely. Prior to facing Bigetron, RRQ had secured six consecutive wins across six matches.

Khezcute, however, viewed the defeat as a necessary wake-up call for his team to avoid complacency and stay vigilant against all opponents. In a post-match interview with MPL ID, he expressed concern over the team’s mentality, fearing that huge victories might breed arrogance.

“(Losing) means nothing serious to me. Personally, I think this loss is a good reminder to keep us grounded. There’s a lot to learn, as we now understand the mapping and playstyles of other teams better,” he explained.”

RRQ will return to the arena on the second day of Week 5 this Saturday (26/04) versus Dewa Esports. Regardless of the outcome, they are guaranteed to enter the mid-season break as league leaders.
