RRQ Hoshi’s head coach, Alfi “Khezcute” Nelphyana, has highlighted a critical mistake he believes significantly impacted his team’s performance during their Week 4 match against Bigetron Esports in MPL Indonesia Season 15 last Saturday (20/04).

Entering the match as crowd favorites following an impressive victory over rival Evos the previous day (19/04), the Indonesian Kings were poised to extend their dominant 6-0 win streak. However, instead of closing Sunday on a high note, they suffered a surprising 0-2 defeat to the Red Robots. Key players Muhammad “Toyy” Rizky and Rendy “Dyrenn” Syahputra, who shone on Saturday, struggled to counter Bigetron’s solid gameplan.

The loss prompted questions from fans and professionals alike, including MPL ID Season 15 host Allysa Natalie, who asked Khezcute about the dynamics during that games. He acknowledged that tactical decisions played a major role, stating:

“The mistakes were mixed. If we specifically talk about Game 1, there was hesitation and a lack of commitment. For Game 2, I insisted on using Fanny—that’s it. The draft choices definitely influenced our outcome.”

The outcome confirms that Onic ID still holds the longest winning streak in MPL ID history to this day. The Yellow Porcupines achieved nine consecutive victories during MPL ID Season 11 in 2023, a record that remains unbroken.

Despite the setback, RRQ remains atop the standings with six wins from seven matches. Rivals like Bigetron and Evos will need extraordinary efforts to dethrone them before the mid-season break.
