Roony Bardghji Officially Joins Barcelona from FC Copenhagen

Roony Bardghji has officially joined Barcelona from FC Copenhagen for an initial transfer fee of €2 million, as announced by the club on Monday.

The 19-year-old winger — born in Kuwait to Syrian parents and holding Swedish nationality — has signed a contract until 2029, which includes performance-based bonuses and a future resale percentage for Copenhagen.

Bardghji will take part in Barcelona’s preseason under Hansi Flick and is scheduled to join the club’s Asia tour this month — before a final decision is made regarding his immediate future, which may involve:

• Joining the reserve team in Spain’s fourth division
• Being loaned out to another LaLiga club
• Direct promotion to Barcelona’s senior team

Before suffering an ACL injury in May last year, Roony Bardghji impressed with 11 goals in the 2023–24 season, including a crucial goal in FC Copenhagen’s stunning 4–3 win over Manchester United in the Champions League.

After a 10-month absence, the young winger returned to action in March 2025, making six appearances in the Danish Superliga before the season concluded.
