Ronald Araujo targeted by Chelsea and Juventus in transfer window

Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo has become a target for two European elite clubs — Chelsea and Juventus for the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Uruguayan defender’s future at Barcelona has become uncertain after showing inconsistent performance last season — coupled with a series of injury problems that plagued him.

Coach Hansi Flick prefers the duo of Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez as Barcelona’s main center-backs, making it difficult for Araujo to secure a place in the starting lineup.

Despite recently extending his contract until 2031 in January, Barcelona remains open to releasing the 26-year-old player — who only recorded 25 appearances last season.
