Roman Abramovich Reveals His Last Wish for Chelsea

Roman Abramovich, the Russian tycoon who was forced to sell Chelsea in 2022, has revealed his last wish for the club he led for 19 years.

The sale happened due to UK government sanctions over Abramovich’s alleged ties to Vladimir Putin during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

“I have decided to sell the club because I believe it is in its best interest,” Abramovich said at the time.

The sale reached £4.25 billion to a US-based consortium — with £2.5 billion allocated to aid victims of the Russia-Ukraine war and the remainder for the club.

The former Chukotka governor had to end his ownership of the West London club after nearly two decades at the helm.
