Rivan Nurmulki and Wolfdogs Nagoya to Face Suntory Sunbirds in Japanese Volleyball League Semifinals

National volleyball player Rivan Nurmulki, alongside Wolfdogs Nagoya, will face Suntory Sunbirds in the Japanese Volleyball League semifinals. The matches are scheduled to take place at the Suntory Training Center from April 25-27.

Wolfdogs Nagoya advanced to the semifinals after defeating JT Thunders in the quarterfinals with a 3-1 victory (25-17, 31-29, 21-25, 25-16). Rivan Nurmulki had an impressive performance and earned the playoff MVP title. Despite his limited playing time, he recorded the highest attack rate at 70 percent.

His teammate, Dutch player Nimir Abdel-Aziz, who scored a match-high 30 points, achieved only a 61.4 percent attack rate. Coach Valerio Baldovin decided to switch Rivan’s position from opposite to middle blocker since joining the team this season.

The upcoming semifinal clash against the Suntory Sunbirds will be a crucial test for Wolfdogs Nagoya as they aim to continue their strong performance and push for a place in the final. Rivan’s role in the team, particularly after his position change, has proven to be pivotal to their success this season.
