Rian/Gabriel advance to Canada Open 2025 main draw

Rian Agung Saputro and Gabriel Christopher Wintan Wijaya have advanced to the main draw of Canada Open 2025 — the only Indonesian representatives in men’s doubles category of this tournament.

The Indonesian pair secured their main draw ticket after defeating home duo Clarene Chau/Wong Yat Kin with a score of 21-15, 21-15 at Markham Pan Am Centre, Ontario.

Rian Agung Saputro — former world number seven and 2017 World Championship finalist with Mohammad Ahsan — currently works as a badminton coach in Canada.

Rian’s latest achievements were recorded about two years ago when he claimed Indonesia International Challenge title with Berry Angriawan and Canadian International Challenge with Serena Kani in mixed doubles.
