Rexy Mainaky praises rapid development of Malaysian women’s doubles

Senior coach Rexy Mainaky appreciates the rapid development of Malaysian women’s doubles, Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan — who now demonstrate clever gameplay in covering their weaknesses.

The world number three pair proved their consistency by winning the Thailand Open 2025 (Super 500) title — followed by runner-up achievements at Indonesia Open 2025 (Super 1000) and Indonesia Masters 2025.

Their impressive achievement came when they defeated Japanese favorites, Yuki Fukushima/Mayu Matsumoto — despite facing contract challenges with BAM (Badminton Association of Malaysia).

Tan/Thinaah’s partnership has grown stronger after the ankle injury incident at All England 2025 — unlike last year when they experienced communication issues and frequent early tournament exits.
