Rexy Mainaky Disappointed with Japan Open 2025 Draw

Rexy Mainaky — Malaysia’s Doubles Coaching Director — expressed his disappointment regarding the Japan Open 2025 draw that forces several Malaysian men’s doubles pairs to meet in the opening round.

The tournament draw matches four Malaysian men’s doubles pairs in the round of 32 — Asian champions Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik will face independent pair Ong Yew Sin/Teo Ee Yi.

Meanwhile, the pair of Man Wei Chong/Tee Kai Wun is set to meet their national training center teammates, Junaidi Arif/Yap Roy King — both pairs are under the guidance of coach Herry Iman Pierngadi.

Indonesia faces a similar fate with two men’s doubles representatives meeting in the first round — seeded pair Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani will face Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri.
