Reijnders makes full debut as Man City defeat Wydad AC

Manchester City began their FIFA Club World Cup 2025 journey with a convincing victory — defeating Wydad AC 2-0 in their Group G opener on Thursday (18/6).

Phil Foden gave The Citizens an early lead within two minutes — converting a loose ball in the penalty area with his left foot. City’s advantage doubled when Jeremy Doku put his name on the scoresheet in the 42nd minute.

Tijjani Reijnders, the midfielder of Maluku descent, marked his special debut for Manchester City — playing the full 90 minutes in his team’s first tournament victory.
