Red Sparks suffer dramatic loss in Korean Volleyball League final after leading two sets

Daejeon JungKwanJang Red Sparks failed to turn things around in the second leg of the Korean Volleyball League 2024-2025 final — Ko Hee-jin’s team succumbed to Incheon Heungkuk Life Pink Spiders at Samsan World Gymnasium, Incheon.

The team featuring Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi initially led with a two-set advantage but eventually fell with a score of 2-3 (25-23, 25-18, 22-25, 12-25, 12-15).

Stamina proved to be Red Sparks’ main obstacle — they had to play more matches in the playoffs compared to Pink Spiders, who qualified directly to the final as regular-season champions.

Ko Hee-jin still expressed high appreciation for his players’ efforts — despite some competing with injuries, they managed to put on an impressive performance as promised after the first-leg defeat.

With this victory, Incheon Heungkuk Life Pink Spiders —cement their dominance in the league, further strengthening their status as one of South Korea’s top volleyball teams. Meanwhile, Red Sparks will look to regroup and build on their strong campaign for the next season.
