Red Bull team principal Christian Horner reveals serious issues with the RB21 car — there is a mismatch between wind tunnel data and actual track performance.

Although Max Verstappen managed to win the Japanese GP, Red Bull’s dominance has been declining since late last season and hasn’t improved in early 2025. Following disappointing results at the Bahrain GP last week, team leadership held emergency meetings to find solutions.

“We understand where the issues are, but the solutions take more time. What we see in our tools isn’t correlating with what’s happening on track — it’s like looking at two different watches,” Horner explained.

The main problem lies in the corner entry phase — the team needs to improve grip and driver confidence. With current regulations ending this year, Red Bull plans to build a new wind tunnel facility for the 2027 season.

Despite challenges, the team remains optimistic with 24 races remaining and only eight points behind in the drivers’ championship after this season’s first four rounds.
