In the pre-match press conference, Thibaut Courtois confirmed that Real Madrid have made special preparations to counter Arsenal’s set-piece danger ahead of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final at the Emirates Stadium.

This marks the first meeting between the two clubs in 19 years, with Los Blancos, the 15-time Champions League winners, facing an Arsenal side seeking their first-ever UCL title. Real Madrid, currently second in La Liga, have remarkably won six Champions League titles in the last 11 seasons.

“We worked on it yesterday. We know how to defend against them,” said Courtois. “The first thing is not conceding many corners. Then it’s about concentration and being active.”

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti expressed full support for Vinicius Junior, who faced criticism after an underwhelming performance in the previous match.

“I’m convinced he’ll have a good game tomorrow,” said Ancelotti confidently.

The Italian tactician also praised Mikel Arteta for transforming Arsenal into a European powerhouse.

“In five years, he’s taken this team to the top in Europe. He’s built a complete team — and there aren’t many like that,” Ancelotti added.

The highly anticipated first leg will be played on Wednesday at 02:00 WIB, with both sides eager to gain the upper hand in their bid for a place in the semi-finals.
