Real Madrid needs miracle to eliminate Arsenal in Champions League

Real Madrid faces an almost impossible task — they must overturn a three-goal deficit when hosting Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-final second leg at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu tomorrow night.

Los Blancos need at least a 3-0 victory to force the match into extra time, or 4-0 to advance directly to the semi-finals.

In Champions League history, Madrid has never suffered a 0-3 defeat in the first leg of knockout stages. Their biggest comeback occurred about 10 years ago — defeating Wolfsburg 3-0 after losing 0-2 in the first leg, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s hat-trick securing the semi-final ticket.

Although history isn’t on their side, Madrid can still draw inspiration from sensational comeback stories achieved by other clubs in this competition.
