Carlo Ancelotti acknowledged his team made many mistakes but also showed positive aspects as Real Madrid drew 4-4 with Real Sociedad — a result sufficient to reach the Copa del Rey final with 5-4 aggregate.

The match unfolded dramatically at Santiago Bernabéu when the visitors led 3-1 in the 80th minute, before Jude Bellingham and Aurélien Tchouaméni leveled the score to 3-3. Mikel Oyarzabal made it 4-3 in the 93rd minute, but Antonio Rüdiger became the hero with an excellent header in the 115th minute.

“It was an entertaining game with many goals and good things. We’ve achieved our objective and reached another final,” said Ancelotti in the post-match press conference.

Vinicius Junior impressed with two brilliant assists, while young Endrick managed to score Madrid’s opener. Real Sociedad coach Imanol Alguacil claimed Madrid’s second goal should have been disallowed as Kylian Mbappé was in an offside position.

Madrid will face either Barcelona or Atletico Madrid in the final to be held in Seville later this month.
