Real Betis CEO—Ramon Alarcon expressed optimism about retaining Antony after his loan spell from Manchester United ends  despite having no permanent purchase option in the initial agreement.

“When we discussed the possibility of bringing Antony in January, I saw it more distant than I see now him staying. It’s because both Manchester United and the player have seen that Real Betis is a great place for the player to develop,” said Alarcon.

The 25-year-old Brazilian winger has recorded four goals and four assists in 13 appearances for Betis — contrasting with his United performance where he only scored 12 goals in 96 matches.

Despite his optimism, Alarcon acknowledges negotiations won’t be easy—considering Antony’s £85 million transfer value to United and his contract running until 2027.

The 2026 World Cup factor also remains a key consideration for the player who last represented Brazil in 2023.

Real Betis currently sits sixth in LaLiga and will host Jagiellonia Białystok—in the Conference League quarter-final first leg.
