Rasmussen dazzles with 70 overtakes at Bommarito 500

Christian Rasmussen delivered an extraordinary performance at the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at World Wide Technology Raceway’s oval circuit — the Ed Carpenter Racing driver executed over 70 overtakes to secure third place behind Kyle Kirkwood and Pato O’Ward.

Starting from 25th position, Rasmussen faced multiple challenges — including a fire incident on lap 50 that left his fuel tank partially empty. The situation became more complicated when he had to make an emergency pit stop during a caution flag and received a penalty that pushed him back to 18th position.

“As soon as I found out how well my car worked on the high side, it was just game on,” Rasmussen stated after the race.

This achievement marks Rasmussen’s first IndyCar podium finish, adding to his impressive oval track record following his sixth-place finish at the Indianapolis 500 last month.
