Rasmus Højlund’s future at Manchester United remains uncertain

According to ESPN sources, Manchester United has not made a final decision regarding Rasmus Højlund‘s future — the club is still considering various options ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old striker’s long-term prospects at Old Trafford have been compromised after a difficult second season — he has scored only four goals in the Premier League. United continues to search for a new striker and is monitoring Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyökeres.

Højlund’s representatives held talks with United executives last week about the club’s plans for the Danish international. Several clubs — including Inter Milan — have made contact to stay informed about the situation.

“I have a contract [until 2028], so I expect to play for Manchester United [next season],” said Højlund. “I know what the facts are, and that is that I have a contract with Manchester United.”

Sources indicate Højlund’s future will largely depend on the arrival of a new striker before next season. United is currently prioritizing the completion of Bryan Mbeumo‘s transfer from Brentford before moving on to other targets.
