Rashford loses number 10 at Manchester United, Cunha takes over

According to ESPN, Marcus Rashford has lost the number 10 at Manchester United — a number now transferred to new recruit Matheus Cunha.

The 27-year-old hasn’t played for United since December and spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa. Club management has asked Rashford to delay his return to the Carrington training complex while he continues to search for a new club.

Antony, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia have also indicated their desire to leave this summer — they’ve been granted extended holidays to arrange transfers.

Villa has rejected the option to make Rashford permanent for £40 million. Barcelona is reportedly set to increase their interest after Nico Williams rejected their approach by signing a new contract at Athletic Club.

“Rashford’s preference is to play abroad and feature in the Champions League,” ESPN sources revealed.

With three years remaining on his contract, United is open to full-season loan offers provided most of his wages are taken off their books.
