Barcelona secured a dominant 4-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, with Raphinha playing a central role in both scoring and assisting.

The opening goal arrived in the 25th minute when Raphinha tapped in a shot originally struck by Pau Cubarsí from an Iñigo Martínez cross. The Brazilian winger later admitted his concern over being offside and apologized to Cubarsí.

“I thought the ball was going wide and reacted instinctively. I was worried about being offside. I apologized to Pau, but he told me not to worry and said it counts as an assist,” Raphinha told reporters.

Robert Lewandowski added two more goals against his former club, while Lamine Yamal sealed the win with a clinical finish. Raphinha also registered two assists in the match.

Despite the emphatic scoreline, coach Hansi Flick remains grounded, reminding his squad to focus on the upcoming La Liga clash with Leganés before turning attention to the second leg in Germany.

On the other side, Dortmund coach Niko Kovač conceded that his team’s semifinal hopes are slim, acknowledging the gap in quality between the two teams during the match.
