Rain Disrupts Indy 500 Practice, Palou Sets Fastest Time

Rain played spoiler at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, cutting down valuable practice time for the 34 drivers preparing for the iconic Indianapolis 500.

Despite the delay, championship leader Alex Palou managed to shine.

Alex Palou posts fastest lap for Chip Ganassi Racing

Driving for Chip Ganassi Racing, Alex Palou recorded the fastest lap of the day at 227.546 mph, improving on the previous day’s benchmark of 227.026 mph set by Will Power.

Power followed closely behind at 225.584 mph, securing second place, while his Team Penske teammate, Josef Newgarden, claimed third.

“We did a little bit of running in traffic,” said Palou.
“The car feels good. You always want it to feel a little bit better, but so far, so good.”

Ferrucci struggles, Kirkwood leads no-tow category

Meanwhile, Santino Ferrucci expressed frustration after finishing 33rd:

“I’m fed up with trying to make this work. There was light at the end of the tunnel but not anymore.”

In the no-tow speed category, Kyle Kirkwood led with 222.760 mph, while veteran Helio Castroneves completed the most laps of the session — an impressive 114 circuits.
